Total Compensation Package

LSI currently seeks a full-time Administrative Assistant at the Muscatine office location. Work schedule will be 8am-5pm Monday-Friday. This position will also support surrounding counties. Occasional travel is required.


Administrative assistants perform assigned administrative tasks, including but not limited to, secretarial, accounting and receptionist tasks. Additionally, this position would work as a member of the team to provide a variety of administrative supports for staff at the assigned office or department location. Must have good customer service skills, self starter, and be organized.

Job Summary:

  • Phones answered promptly, professionally and courteously; calls directed to appropriate personnel.
  • Incoming mail is distributed accurately and in a timely manner. Outgoing mail is prepared and sent in a timely manner.
  • Dictation/Transcription completed efficiently and accurately.
  • Visitors are greeted promptly and registered.
  • Meeting arrangements are handled efficiently: room scheduling, food service, room maintenance. May include preparation of agendas and minutes and other materials.
  • Agency reports and lists are kept up-to-date and produced according to agency guidelines.
  • Correspondence, reports, and mailings are produced in prescribed format by deadline with excellent grammar and proofreading.
  • Files organized and kept up to date.
  • Staff schedules are gathered and information about where to reach them is easily obtained.
  • Emergency phone calls are handled so that a professional staff member attends to the issue in a timely manner.
  • May perform recordkeeping duties to maintain client and agency records to meet proper retention rules.
  • Provide back-up support to other LSI Administrative support staff.
  • Accurately performs other duties as assigned by supervisor.

Candidate must be outgoing, organized, have strong phone skills, be proficient in Microsoft Office and have computer experience.


Qualified applicants must have a high school diploma and two years experience working in an administrative capacity. Preferred applicants will have five or more years of administrative work experience.

This position requires a valid driver's license, auto insurance, a good driving record and the ability to pass an extensive background check including checks of the Dependent Adult and Child Abuse registries, Sex Offender registry and a criminal history check.
