Our Services for People with Disabilities team is searching for dedicated, compassionate hourly part-time/full-time Direct Support Professionals in Dubuque area. Currently looking for part-time DSPs and part-time 30+ to lead to full-time once caseload is built. The Iowans we serve are seeking a life of greater confidence and independence, and it's our privilege to empower them toward success every day.



An hourly Direct Support Professional (DSP) works with adults and children with intellectual disabilities or chronic mental illness. During a regular shift, our hourly DSPs meet with multiple individuals one at a time, spending two to four hours with each of them.  Offers a flexible schedule with hours available during day, after school and into the evening hours.  Mostly Monday through Friday.  The person in this role should be willing and able to work occasional weekend hours, as needed.  This position can lead to more hours as they become available and if desired.  DSPs are there to provide support, assistance, and instruction in learning independent living skills like:

            - Money management

            - Socialization

            - Cooking

            - Personal hygiene

Qualified candidates for this job will have either a high school diploma or a GED. Experience working with Supported Community Living or with people with disabilities is preferred, but not required.

This position requires a valid driver's license, auto insurance, a good driving record, and the ability to pass an extensive background check, including checks of the Dependent Adult and Child Abuse registries, the Sex Offender registry, and the criminal history check.
